Idea # 10
Writing Things Down is the
Best Way to Avoid Confusion & Memory Problems

Brain injury can easily lead to worry and chaos. To avoid disorganization and confusion, write things down. But, people complain,

I’ll lose the book I write in.

Writing things down takes too long.

I never had to write things down before.

It’s too much trouble, I write slow.

Think about what happens when you –

Don’t remember to take your seizure medicine...

Forget to buy food for dinner...

     Fail to feed your fish...

     Miss a therapy appointment...

Drive forty minutes to your lawyer’s office and forget to bring the papers...

     Miss a meeting at work…

Forget to pay the credit card and phone bills...

Write down your schedule, your plans, your ideas, and the different lists mentioned in this booklet. When things get chaotic and overwhelming, review the book. What you have written down will form a map to help you navigate the chaos and confusion.
